Volunteer in Uganda
Uganda is a landlocked country that lies almost entirely within the Nile basin.
The economy is based primarily on agriculture, but Uganda contains sizable
deposits of copper and cobalt along with untapped oil and natural gas deposits.
Despite these resources, the average income is around $300 per year. Volunteers
are needed to assist with recovery efforts from periodic flooding, and the
medical conditions associated with starvation and malnutrition. HIV and Aids
continue to ravage the country although past efforts have blunted the crisis.
Find a worthwhile organization and consider volunteering your time and skill to
help those living in developing nations. |
